Hi, My name is Olivia Hylton, I am a Licensed Associate Counselor of Mental Health (LACMH), a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). I graduated from Delaware State University with a Bachelor’s of science degree in Psychology, and obtained my Master’s of science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wilmington University.
I have over 5 years of experience conducting both individual sessions and group therapy addressing a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges with clients of all ages. I have provided therapeutic services in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient mental health/substance abuse facilities, residential treatment settings, home-based therapy, and correctional facilities. I specialize in working with adults who deal with co-occurring Mental Health disorders while overcoming various life transitions and phases of life concerns. Additionally, I have experience working with struggles pertaining to relationships, communication, self-esteem, boundaries, grief, anger, and trauma.
My therapeutic approach is warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental that provides you a safe environment to be vulnerable, heard, identify your personal strengths, and develop healthy coping strategies to navigate life’s challenges. I utilize an integrative approach that includes person-centered, solution-focused, and cognitive-behavioral therapies, as well as mindfulness and other necessary modalities to assist you in meeting your therapeutic and personal goals. I believe that healing and growth is nurtured by being attentive to all aspects of the mind, body, and spirit to assist you in developing wellness holistically while establishing healthy patterns that will benefit you wherever life may take you.
