Insurance Information
Common Insurance Terms Explained
Copayment (Copay)
A fixed amount, which is determined by the insurance (for example, $25 or $40), is required at each visit and collected at the time of service.
Deductible
The amount you must pay out-of-pocket before insurance begins covering services. Until the deductible is met, you are responsible for the full session fee.
Coinsurance
After the deductible is met, you may be responsible for a percentage of the session cost (for example, 20%), with insurance covering the remainder.
Important Insurance Disclaimer:
Insurance benefits are an agreement between you and your insurance provider. While benefit verification may be offered as a courtesy, A New Beginning Counseling cannot guarantee coverage or reimbursement. Submission of a claim does not guarantee payment. Any denied, partially paid, or retroactively adjusted claims remain the responsibility of the client.
Verifying Your Insurance Benefits
To avoid unexpected costs, we strongly encourage clients to contact their insurance provider Prior To The First Appointment. Consider asking the following:
- Do I have outpatient mental health benefits?
- Could you confirm my deductible and whether it has been met this year?
- Is prior authorization required for mental health services?
- What is my copayment or coinsurance per session for an in-network provider?
- How many sessions does my plan cover per calendar year?
- Do I need a referral from my primary care physician?
